This shampoo doesn’t smell like the beach or give you the feel of salt water in your hair after surfing all morning. On the bright side it doesn’t smell like rotting seaweed or have hypodermic needles in it.
There is nothing significant about this shampoo that justifies you spending $15 on it. Yes it does the job and cleanses your hair but so does any other shampoo at the supermarket. Its ingredients are standard for most shampoos – panthenol, aloe vera, water and the litany of other usual suspects, which make shampoo slightly acidic. The spirulina seem to have no proven scientific effect on hair unless digested, but the sea kelp is rich in vitamin B. Vitamin B increases metabolism and cell growth, which is essential to new hair growth. However, there is little evidence that vitamins applied to the surface have an effect on hair. Although this is largely debatable it is proven that vitamin B does have an effect on cells just below the epidermis. Thus it is better if you start taking your vitamin B complex orally to grow more hair, speed up growth or just slow the progress of the inevitable baldness and not waste it on products that use it for marketing purposes.
The only thing about the ocean this product will be able to claim is that its crappy made in China little plastic bottles will probably be found in the Great Pacific Ocean Garbage Patch.
